ABOUT THE PLAYWRIGHT:

Xavier Damnon (Playwright/OFF WITH THE HEAD) is a writer with ten self-published books, though only one of them consists of plays. He used to write plays quite a long time ago, though since then he has written fiction instead, until writing “Off With The Head” recently. “The plays I wrote in the past were not penned thinking of them as something whose ultimate goal was performance upon a stage. They were written in terms of plays as literature, not as theatre, where the presentation on a stage as a live event really didn’t seem to me would add much more to them than the reading of them as a story in play form. Because I viewed them as literature, not theatre, none of the realities of a production that would be staged or time requirements in terms of that were considered. The only one of them that was at all realistically feasible for being performed was a short one-act entitled “The Amnesiac” and it actually appeared in The Strawberry One-Act Festival several years ago. When writing “Off With The Head” I could tell it was developing differently than previous plays and was something where seeing it performed would be a much different experience than the mere reading of it. His published books are: “Dawn,” “What a Wonderful World,” “Xavier Cockroachal Damon’s, Um, Entirely Fictitious Autobiography,” “Welcome to the Idiot Box: Stories, Essays, Self-help Wisdom,” “Love Is What Will Make an Immortal Die: Also Includes Waiting for Godotal and Future Uncertain, Self-sedition, No Reason, Rhyme and The Mystery of the Missing Dead and Sojourn Within the Shadow Night” and a book of plays, “Dog Years Within the Curse of 7. Six Plays, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1...Zero”, written under the pen name Xavier Cockroachal Damon. Other books include: “Postcards from the Wasteland,” “Welcome to Nowhereland (5 Stories),” “The Chronicles of the Adventures of Man-Man, Defender of Man: Books 1 and 2: (Episodes 1-10) ” and “Self Extermination. Sounds Like a Plan: Also Includes Give Me a Burger and Hold the Fries and Brain Circus and (3 Essays About Donald J. Trump), The Adventures of Man-Man and Soliloquy to My Soul” written under the pen name Aaron Aaronson.

ABOUT THE PLAYWRIGHT:

Melissa Ross (Playwright, ROUSING THE HEAD) I grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan and later placed roots in Phoenix, Arizona, which is where I currently reside with my husband and 4 year-old daughter. In the previous century, I went to Arizona State University for an M.F.A. in Creative Writing and began producing plays across the Valley. (In 2011, I worked with the Rousing the Head cast on an evening of comedy skits.) My NYC debut was the week of September 11, 2001, at Manhattan Theatre Source. Since flights were grounded, I didn’t get to go, but the actors performed to a full house. This is when I first fell in love with the passion and grit of the city…I learned the show must always go on. Today, I find time to write poems, short stories, screenplays, and plays at odd hours, on whatever paper or computer is available, since most of my waking hours I am teaching (grading papers) at South Ridge High School and Paradise Valley Community College.

ABOUT THE PLAYWRIGHT:

George Coates (Playwright/TALKABOUT) is a British writer who calls on his left wing politics not only as a source of material for his plays, but also as a way to infuriate his father-in-law. He has been known to use his horrifically orange beard as a conversation starter.
