Italian American Vocal Trio: Tre Bella
Congratulations to Riant Alumni JoAnn Robertozzi who appeared in the Strawberry One-Act Festival in Table For Two in 2003. Her girl band Tre Bella is going on tour. They last appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel Stage in Hollywood last year where they debut their latest single "Kisses in the Dark." Check them out.

Congratulations to Alumni JOHNNIE MAE, (Strawberry One-Act Festival Winter 2009 in Tea Under The Lilac Tree) she's been nominated for an AUDELCO Award for Best Supporting Actress for the role of Delores in What Would Jesus Do? Produced by The Billie Holiday Theatre. We look forward to seeing her at the 38th Annual Vivian Robinson/AUDELCO Recognition Awards (The "Viv") for Excellence in Black Theatre.   • APRIL LEE HERNANDEZ (An actress in PRECIOUS, in the Strawberry One-Act Festival 2001) has a recurring role as a cop on DEXTER season 5 on Showtime.

    According to Entertainment Weekly's Ausiello Files "ER"'s April Lee Hernandez (pictured above) has signed on to the series for a recurring role as a new cop (presumably) working in Miami Metro's homicide department.

    Hernandez joins fellow newbies Julia Stiles, Maria Doyle Kennedy, and Shawn Hatosy, along with a returning Julie Benz for more Dark Passenger related mayhem.
  • NEGOTIATING THE ELUSIVE ONE NIGHT STAND BY JASON GREEN will be performed on December 3rd and 4th at the Westminister Arts Center at Bloomfield College in Bloomfield, New Jersey. It's being performed by the NJ School of Dramatic Arts.

    Negotiating The Elusive Perfect One Night Stand made its New York City debut on February 10, 2024 and was a finalist in The Riant Theatre’s Winter 2004 Strawberry One-Act Festival at the Producers Club II. Sharon has appeared in several shows with the Riant Theatre and she was a finalist contestant in WHO'S GOT GAME: The Improv Show on Riant TV (RTV) in 2006.

  • ROSEMARY ZIBART, whose play BABE, INC. was in the Strawberry One-Act Festival Summer 2008, has been very busy. Her play THE JEWEL IN THE MANUSCRIPT, based on an incident in the life of Fyodor Dostoevsky, was one of two winners of the 2009 Icicle Creek Theatre Festival and staged readings were held at ACT Theatre in Seattle. JEWEL was one of ten finalists for New Works Festivals in the 2010 Phoenix Theatre in Phoenix and Long Beach Actors Theatre Festival in Long Beach. It is short-listed for two other festivals at present.
     
    In addition, her play MY DEAR DOCTOR, about the first woman physician who created a clinic for poor women and children in New York City in 1856 just tied for 2nd place at the Jackie White Memorial Children's Play Writing Contest.
  • COLD APRIL by John McEneny, BEST PLAY Winner of the Riant Theatre's Strawberry One-Act Festival, Winter 2008, has been made into a short film. The film, a Burning Clown Productions, presents COLD APRIL; based on the true story of the St. Maria Goretti schoolgirls who stood together against hatred and intolerance during the 1994 Rwandan genocide.   • Damian Bailey, actor, director, screenwriter and playwright (PRECIOUS, a finalist in the Strawberry One-Act Festival, Summer 2001), is happy to announce that his feature film GANG GIRL has been release on DVD at Blockbuster, Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble.   • In 2009 we had an increasing number of playwrights who are published in our anthologies (THE BEST PLAYS FROM THE STRAWBERRY ONE-ACT FESTIVAL) receive royalties from having their plays performed around the country. The last play requested is NEGOTIATING THE ELUSIVE PERFECT ONE NIGHT STAND by Jason Parker Green (Volume One). It will be presented December 3rd and 4th at the Westminister Arts Center at Bloomfield College in Bloomfield, New Jersey. It's being performed by the NJ School of Dramatic Arts.
